Tesla Model 3 / Y MCU repair

Black screen, restarts or stuck on the Tesla logo?

We diagnose and repair Intel Atom and AMD Ryzen Tesla infotainment computers at component level. Not every MCU fault requires a complete replacement; assessment determines whether the original unit can be repaired.

Symptoms we investigate

• Black screen, repeated restarts or a screen stuck on the Tesla logo
• Loss of LTE, GPS, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi
• Audio faults or instability after warming up
• An MCU that will not start or communicate

A symptom alone does not prove an MCU fault. We identify the cause through diagnostics.

Intel Atom MCU / MCU2

Some earlier Model 3 and Model Y vehicles use Intel Atom infotainment computers. Assessment may include the CPU and surrounding circuitry, power supply, memory and storage, communication circuits, modem and other motherboard components.

AMD Ryzen MCU / MCU3

Newer Model 3 and Model Y vehicles use AMD Ryzen infotainment computers. We perform component-level diagnostics and, where economically repairable, aim to restore the original unit.

The Autopilot/FSD computer is a separate system. We also investigate faults affecting that system.

Repair process

1. Diagnostics: fault codes, communication and vehicle symptoms.
2. Electronic assessment: motherboard inspection to identify the faulty circuit or component.
3. Repair: memory, power supply, BGA or other electronic work as required.
4. Testing: operation checked before refitting and in the vehicle.
